About Ghat Ki Guni

In 2013, work on the Ghat ki Guni twin tunnel near the Jawahar Nagar bypass in Jhalana Hills was finished. It halved the distance and reduced travel times to half. The tunnel is situated in Rajasthan, India, on NH 21 (Old NH11).

In Jaipur, there is a little valley called Ghat Ki Guni Surang between the eastern Aravalis mountain range. It offers access to locations outside of Jaipur on the east side. Agra Road, also known as Ghat ki Guni, serves as the beginning point of all traffic going to Agra. In the past, this tunnel served as the Dhoondahr kingdom's entrance. A first-time visitor to Jaipur who enters the city from Ghat Ki Guni will undoubtedly be enthralled by the architecture. After crossing the tunnel you can also visit Sisodia Rani Ka Bagh which also has unbelievable architecture. The tunnel has Havelis on both sides which makes it a beautiful driving experience through the tunnel. It has a stunning facade that stretches down both sides of the street and is embellished with the jharokhas and chhatris that are distinctive to Jaipur architecture. It is Rajasthan's largest tunnel. Since it is accident-prone, it is better to drive slowly while enjoying the beauty around.

It is located on Agra Road, three kilometers away from Jaipur.

The longest tunnel in Rajasthan is located in Ghat's Guni. It is 2800 meters long.

In this, the length of the tunnel coming out of the mountain is 858 meters. A total of four lanes of 4.5 meter width are to be built in the tunnel. Its total length will be 11200 meters.

Ghat Ki Guni

Ghat Ki Guni History

In 1739, Ghat ki Guni was erected by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, who also built Jaipur city. In the Purana Ghat neighborhood, which is down the valley line, one may observe the Ghat Ki Guni complex. The Dhoondhar kingdom's gateway for many years was this building, which had a crucial role in developing the Dhoondhar state. During Raja Man Singh's rule, Ghat Ki Guni was merely a cobblestone walkway with a paved surface, but it has been said that several neighboring structures were erected to display Amber State's splendor to the Mughal Emperor. A fresh architectural spirit was resurrected with the creation of Jaipur in 1727 AD approx, as seen by the building of numerous gardens, palaces, and havelis to Ghat Ki Guni.

The Ghat ki Guni area's layout plan called for terraced gardens in the Mughal style, similar to Raj Niwas, Vidhyadhar, and Sisodia Rani gardens. These gardens drew inspiration and style from the well-known Mughal gardens in Delhi, Kashmir, and other places.
